Nailing your Substack About page is a rite of passage on Substack. There is a right way, i.e., a way that makes you look deeper into what you’re posting and why you’re on here and a wrong way. The right/wrong thing has nothing to do with how it looks but what it does for you in the writing of it.
Hi Sarah, I would like to upgrade to paid subscriber but I have a doubt: I don't write in English, so my audience is much much smaller and Substack it's still not a thing here in Italy. Sarah, you're amazing! I am a marketing copywriter. I write for others all the time presenting their best face. Yet, when it came to my own public face, I've always been conflicted and a bit confused as to what I am (or really want to be), therefore my about pages aren't nearly what they should be.
But, with your advice, "I can see clearly now, the rain has gone...". Thanks for your generosity!

I usually check a person about page, whether on Substack, Medium or LinkedIn, and they are everywhere. For me I am not sure if I should be casual, friendly with it or make it a professional looking about section.
Revamped all three of my about pages and, of course, adding video was part of the process. In fact, created new logos for all three newsletters and to top it off, revamped all the welcome email for all newsletters
For me, the about page has always been very important. It’s the first thing I check when considering subscribing to a blog. And it’s irritating when there is nothing there.
Is there a recording for the workshop associated with this?

I struggle with that too. On Substack, err on the side of being yourself, whichever that equates to.
